As for why the buildings are painted blue, well that’s up for debate! Some believe the buildings were painted blue by the Jewish people who settled in the city (in Jewish belief the colour blue represents the sky and reminds people of God). Some believe the blue acts as a mosquito repellent, while others believe it keeps the city cool. No matter the reason, the various shades of blue combine to create a pretty spectacular city.
