Get your walking shoes on

After leaving the information centre (boasting a great café with fresh barista-made coffee and delicious lamingtons), you will start with a lengthy walk along the forest floor for around a kilometre before hitting the elevated walkway. All in all, the entire walk works out to be 1.9 kilometres long, including both the forest path and the walkway. Some of which is uphill, so bring some decent walking shoes and an umbrella as it rains a lot in this region.

Bask in the scenery from the viewing platforms

The viewing platforms (some are undercover) make great places to pause and enjoy the scenery. Plus this is a great opportunity to take photos of both the lushness below and the green canopy surrounding you! On our adventure, we were lucky enough to see lots of colourful birds in the treetops as well as sitting on the railings of the walkway, so make sure you have your cameras at the ready.

Discover diverse greenery

This beautiful pocket of Victorian wilderness is home to some of the most iconic giant trees. This includes some world-famous Australian natives like giant eucalyptus, stringybark, grey gum, blue gum, beech and blackwood just to name a few. Some of these amazing trees even have trunk girths of over 10 metres! This is truly a spiritual place to explore and experience. The forest floor is covered in moss and different fun-guys (fungi, sorry bad dad joke) and the tallest, lushest ferns I have ever seen! The constant drizzle and moisture in the air has surely helped the region flourish into the impressive sight seen before you.
