Deciding when to book a holiday can be one of the most difficult parts of the decision-making process. While there is no single-best time to visit these regions (as every traveller’s preferences are different), we have outlined some considerations for you!
When should I embark on a European adventure?
Glacier Express by Dennis Bunnik
Gelati in Florence by Dennis Bunnik
Glorious sunshine, pristine coastlines and fantastic food. Many people love to travel to Europe during the summer time, when you can leave the big and bulky winter coats at home.
Mediterranean countries, such as Italy, Greece, Spain and Croatia tend to experience hot and dry summers. If you’re looking to escape the Australian winter, this could be the perfect alternative.
Our suggestion: Northern Italy, Slovenia and Croatia small group tour, which includes a visit to the Gelato Museum, dedicated to the history of artisan gelato. With tastings included, this is the perfect summer’s day activity!
Autumn and spring are great times to visit beautiful Germany and Switzerland. If you’re looking for milder temperatures and beautiful countryside (wildflowers in the spring and amazing colours in the autumn) these two countries should be at the top of your list!
Our suggestion: Alpine Discovery small group tour, which includes a ride on the famous Glacier Express. Admire the stunning scenery and breath in the fresh air.
When is it best to explore South & Central America?
Amazonian Sunset by Dennis Bunnik
Palenque by Marion Bunnik
There’s no bad time to visit this beautiful part of the world! Temperatures and humidity, however, can be quite high during the summer.
If you are after a warm and sunny holiday, Argentina (from December to February) and Mexico (from May to September) should be up for consideration. Rio is beautiful during the summer season (December – March) when the temperature is an almost constant 30°C.
If Peru is on your bucket list, April to October is a great time to visit, as this is the dry season and the days are usually clear and warm and the nights are cool.
Our suggestion: Peru Explorer day small group tour. If a warm adventure is what you are after, this is the trip for you. A clear and sunny day will be ideal for a walk in the Amazon Jungle and spotting wildlife (think monkeys, otters, parrots and caiman).
